The founding Directors of the Terry Fox Research Institute are:
DARRELL FOX
As Terry’s younger brother, Darrell Fox has had a long history of involvement with the legacy founded by his brother. In 1980, 17 year old Darrell joined Terry on his Marathon of Hope in Saint John, New Brunswick. In 1990, Darrell became the Provincial Director for The Terry Fox Foundation in British Columbia. In 1994, he moved to the National Office in Toronto where he became the Assistant National Director and in January of 1996 assumed the role of National Director. The National office moved to Terry’s home province of British Columbia in December, 2004.

DR VICTOR LING
Dr. Ling is the founding Scientific Director of TFRI. He is an authority on multi-drug resistance in cancer, and is well-known for his discovery of P-glycoprotein, the first molecule identified to be responsible for drug resistance. Most recently, Dr. Ling was the Vice President of Discovery Research at the BC Cancer Agency. Dr. Ling will provide overall leadership to TFRI, the development of translational research projects, relationships with stakeholders, and TFRI communications.

DR CHRIS PAIGE
Dr. Paige is Vice President Research of the University Health Network in Toronto. A Senior Scientist in the Division of Stem Cell and Developmental Biology at the Ontario Cancer Institute, his research interests are centred on the processes involved in development and disregulation of B cells involved in the immune system.
