Poster Guidelines and Overview
The following information is intended to assist registrants who are attending and presenting a poster.
Poster Number: Your poster has been assigned a poster number in the poster abstract book. This number is important as it tells you on which poster board your poster is to be mounted, and you're your are required to be at your poster during attended poster viewing sessions (see below for more details)
Poster Size: Please provide a 7 feet wide X 3 feet high poster for installation on a 8 feet wide X 4 feet high poster board.
Format: Professional posters that are laminated and in colour are preferable.
Content:
- Illustrations and tables enhance the impact and effectiveness of the presentation.
- Please ensure any typewritten material is legible from a distance of approximately 6 feet.
- Posters should be focused; limit the number of details on the poster itself.
POSTER INSTALLATION
When you register for the meeting, you will be directed to the Poster Session table and given instructions for set up.
At the Poster Table you will receive a poster number, pushpins and/or adhesive tape and directions to the location where you will be able to install your poster.
All posters must be installed before 5 pm on Thursday May 13th
POSTER VIEWING SESSIONS ONE & TWO (ATTENDED)
Posters #1 to 30 - Attend your poster at:
6.30 -7.15 pm Thursday May 13 (Session 1); 1:30-2:15 pm Friday May 14 (Session 2)
Poster #31 and above - Attend your poster at:
7.15 - 8.00 pm Thursday May 13 (Session 1); 2:15-3:00 pm Friday May 14 (Session 2)
- Please be sure to attend and be on time for your poster session.
- Be prepared to answer questions from visitors.
- Be prepared to provide details to support your poster.
- You may wish to provide handouts to visitors.
- During these attended Sessions, members of TFRI will visit the posters to select posters for oral presentation on Thurs May 14th at 3:30 pm.
Posters may be sent in advance of the meeting to TFRI Headquarters at:

Any posters sent in advance will be held at the Poster Table for pick up and installation by participants on the date of registration.
Note: Regrettably, we are unable to provide any printing support/services to participants.
SELECTION FOR ORAL POSTER PRESENTATION
Please come prepared with a maximum of 5 powerpoint slides to introduce your project and its results , should your poster be selected for an Oral Poster Presentation on Thursday May 14th at 3:30 pm
PLEASE UPLOAD YOUR POSTER ABSTRACT NOW
The deadline for submission of Poster Abstracts is
March 15, 2010. These must be submitted as Microsoft Word documents at the time of registration. There is a maximum limit of one page for each Abstract. Please submit these with one-inch margins all around and appear in Times New Roman font, 12 pt. type. All poster abstracts will be printed in the Program book.
