Our focus will be on translatable research efforts in such areas as biomarkers, discovery and validation, the identification of new targets in cancer initiation, progression and metastasis, and the development of novel, small molecule modulators in the treatment of all types of cancer. Fundable projects must demonstrate the ability to address cancer-care issues and clinical improvements within three to five years, and the involvement of clinical and laboratory scientists from at least two independent Quebec research institutions. At least 20 independent cancer translation projects have been reviewed from the institutions below, and several have been retained for potential funding as they move toward clinical application

DR ANNE-MARIE MES-MASSON
Dr. Mes-Masson is the Scientific Director of the Institut du cancer de Montréal, the cancer research arm of the CHUM Research Institute, and the FRSQ cancer network. Dr. Mes-Masson's research involves the identification of key markers of ovarian and prostate cancers and their therapeutic applications.
