Institute Projects

The Terry Fox Research Institute currently supports two translational programs:

Translational Cancer Research Programs
  • During its first year of operation proposals were solicited from affiliated researchers of the TFRI Nodes. Following a Strategic Retreat held at the end of 2008, the Institute committed itself to identify a number of larger, tumour-site specific translational cancer research projects. A summary is provided of the Institute's Project Identification and Selection Process.

Pan-Canadian Cancer Biomarker Initiative
  • TFRI invited disease-specific communities to identify pan-Canadian translational cancer biomarker projects / programs. A summary is provided of the process TFRI will use to identify eligible projects. A workshop was held in fall 2007 to identify champions for the first five disease-specific areas chosen.
A current list of funded projects is available here.
