Most cancer research across Canada is curtailed due to the COVID-19 health emergency. Like other philanthropic organizations, our funding for cancer research is also being curtailed.
We will be communicating directly with each of our funded researchers on how their research funding is affected.
At the same time, we are grateful to the federal government for their recent announcement offering wage subsidies direct to universities and research institutes to support their medical researchers. We trust that our funded teams will be able to take advantage of this support.
In the months ahead, we will continue to consult with our research partners and others to determine how we might best support cancer research during these unexpected times.
