Our funders, research partners and donors are critical to our success in achieving our vision. We cannot realize Terry's dream without you. For more than 30 years, millions of people worldwide have supported cancer research through the Terry Fox annual runs. These runs have raised more than $600 million worldwide for cancer research.

The Terry Fox Research Institute was created in 2007 with a minimum commitment of $50 million over five years from the Terry Fox Foundation. The Institute has leveraged additional funders, partners and donors since its creation. This section highlights our funders and partners and provides important information for current and future supporters and donors.

Our supporters share the vision of the Terry Fox Research Institute that collaborative, milestone-based research will result in discoveries that will lead to practical solutions for cancer patients worldwide. With their help, TFRI is working hard to significantly improve the outcomes of cancer research for patients in Canada and around the world.

Partner With Us!

We are open to discuss partnership opportunities in support of our research programs! We currently have partnerships already in place with not-for-profit foundations, public and private donors and government organizations across the country who are supporting our investment in several research areas, centres, regions and provinces.

Here are a few examples of current partnerships:

  • Translational Research: We have two major translational projects (PROFYLE and EPPIC) that are currently receiving funding from multiple partners across the country.
  • Program Project Grants: The flagship program of TFRI, these PPGs bring together top institutional researchers around an important cancer research theme or issue. We have programs that are co-funded by partners.
  • New Investigators Programs: These are career awards to promising clinician-scientists and fundamental scientists and currently donors are supporting these New Investigators with multi-year donations to their individual programs.
